Support Extended for Student Crisis Intervention
Grant Awarded to Support Critical Intervention for Students
Recently, our school district encountered a significant challenge when essential grant funding for four key intervention roles was discontinued. These specialists are crucial in identifying students at high risk of self-harm and suicide. In the past year alone, they performed hundreds of assessments and connected many students to life-saving care.
In response to this critical need, your Community Foundation stepped in to support the continuation of one of these positions for an additional year. Moreover, the district has managed to secure funds to sustain two more of these critical roles. This timely support gives the Fairfield City School District the breathing room needed to seek further funding, ensuring that our students continue to receive essential mental health support.
The Fairfield Community Foundation prioritizes the mental health of our students, recognizing this as a vital resource for the community. By supporting our community schools through the Fairfield Community Impact Fund, we aim to further enhance the well-being and safety of our students.
