Home Away From Home
A Fairfield native’s love for their hometown has sparked a new opportunity to uplift local seniors. The Fairfield 55 Plus Program Fund, established by Fairfield High School graduate Pat Wheeler, supports a wide range of programs designed to enrich the lives of adults aged “55 and better.”
Through the Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department, the 55 Plus Program offers everything from ice cream socials and game nights to group travel and educational workshops, all hosted at the Fairfield Community Arts Center. For Pat, the program is personal: “This is my home away from home,” she shares. “If there’s anyone who believes wholeheartedly in this program, it’s me.”
With this new fund, Pat is ensuring that older adults in Fairfield can continue to find friendship, stay active, and enjoy affordable, high-quality programming for years to come. Every tax-deductible gift helps build a stronger, more connected community—one experience at a time.
